James 3:13-18, 4:1-10
Pride & Humility
James Allison

There is one sin in which every person in the world struggles with. Every single person - despises it - when they see it in someone else. But hardly anyone ever imagines - that they are guilty of it themselves. This sin is doing more to hold back revival, destroy homes, and ruin this nation than any other sin. It’s causing more believers to live in failure and defeat than any other sin. There is no sin which makes a person more unpopular. And there’s no sin which we are more unconscious of in ourselves.

Have you guessed what it is? I’m talking about the sin of pride. There is nothing more deceptive and more destructive than the sin of pride.

It hides in our blindspots, but it kills the most central and important areas of our lives.

James says God opposes the proud - He stands in battle array against it. But the glorious thing about His gospel - the streams of His grace are overflowing to those who recognize their need for Him.
