This Week’s Power Verse

The Lord is my shepherd, I have all that I need. Psalm 23:1

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:3

When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, John 10:14

“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.” John 10:1

The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. John 10:2

The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. John 10:2-3

When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” John 10:4-5

We invite you and your child to a brief class called Kidz Faith where we’ll talk about what it means to be a Christian, what steps you can take next. This class happens TODAY in San Marcos at 12PM & Buda at 1PM. Childcare for your other kids and lunch will be provided.

  2. What are some characteristics of sheep? In what ways are we like sheep?
  3. John 10:4. What was the turning point for you in hearing Jesus’ voice and responding? How can we be more sensitive to hearing Jesus’s voice in our everyday lives?
  4. Read Matthew 18:11-12. Have you experienced Jesus coming after you when you’ve wandered from Him? What happened?
  5. What area(s) of your life are difficult for you to trust Jesus as the Good Shepherd?
  6. Read John 10:10-11. Jesus says that the Good Shepherd lays down his life for his sheep, what does that mean to you?
  7. How can we pray for you this week?
