
The Humility of Love

Snapshot of John 13:1: (NASB Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour had come that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. (The lesson to be learned is Love and Humility work together)
1.Jesus demonstrated His love for us through
John 13:3-5. Jesus, knowing that the Father had handed all things over to Him, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God, *got up from supper and *laid His outer garments aside; and He took a towel and tied it around Himself.
Then He *poured water into the basin, and began washing the disciples’ feet and wiping them with the towel which He had tied around Himself.
2. Jesus gave us an
John 13:14-17. So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example, so that you also would do just as I did for you. Truly, truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.
3. Jesus showed His love for us all through His
ohn 15:13-14. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you.
Romans 5:8-9. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him
