FOUR REMINDERS FOR EVERY JOURNEY
1. Every Journey Has a Destination
Genesis 11:31 NLT One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai (his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot (his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.
Life Without Vision is Like a Journey Without a Destination
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
2. Every Journey Has Temptations to Settle
Genesis 11:31 NLT
One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai (his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot (his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.
Don’t Allow Your Detours to Derail Your Destination
Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV 18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Don’t Confuse a Rest Stop with a Finish Line
3. Even Though We Stop, God Keeps Moving
Genesis 12:1 NLT The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.
Loss Doesn’t Mean That You’ve Lost Your Direction
Psalm 37:23-24 NLT 23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail oftheir lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.
Loss Doesn’t Rewrite God’s Map—It Tests Your Faith to Follow It.
4.Don’t Settle for What God Called You to Pass Through
Genesis 12:2–3 NLT 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous,
and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
Blessing is Always Found Where God is Leading — Not Where You’ve Settled
Philippians 1:6 NLT 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Hebrews 11:8 NLT It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
