“The Bystander Effect”

The bystander effect has two factors: diffusion of responsibility and social influence.

“See a Need. Fill a Need.”

James 2:14-17
14  What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can
such faith save them?  15  Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  16  If one of
you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical
needs, what good is it?  17  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is
dead.

“The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus
with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving
world simply finds unbelievable.” - Brennan Manning

Galatians 6:9-10…
9  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do
not give up.  10  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those
who belong to the family of believers.

Deuteronomy 15:7-8
7  If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your
God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward them.  8  Rather, be openhanded and
freely lend them whatever they need.

1 John 3:17-18
17  If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on
them, how can the love of God be in that person?  18  Dear children, let us not love with words or
speech but with actions and in truth.

SEE A NEED? FILL A NEED!
