There is tension building. Wherever there is an established community, it will always be difficult to invite new people into the fold. New people bring different—different customs, different beliefs, and different ways of doing things. At the extreme, new people sometimes don’t share our core values. In the midst of all the tension, can the Body of Christ welcome in new and different?

- Have someone new over to your home for a meal each week this month.
- Have a family conversation about the potential of foster care/adoption.
- Treat a coworker, who you normally wouldn’t eat with, to lunch this week.
- Talk to someone you don’t know before you leave this building today.
- Take a dessert over to a neighbor and introduce yourself.
- Reach out to a global partner and encourage/support them.
- Dedicate yourself to prayer, asking God to open your heart more and more.
