Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
The Spirit of the living God does not pay attention to our order of service, and is not confined to your 3 points and a prayer expectation.
When was the last time you entered the Lord’s House not focusing on how the service might unfold, but with an open heart, expecting the Holy Spirit to move within you and among the church community?
“What you ignore doesn’t disappear; it grows in the shadows until it demands your attention.”
“Denial does not solve the problem; it only delays the inevitable reckoning.”
Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
“I will exercise at all times; my tennis shoes shall continually be on my feet.”
Worship is not contingent on how we feel or our circumstances, but on who God is.
What is the difference between blessing the Lord and praising the Lord?
To bless the Lord is to speak well of Him with a posture of humility, often stemming from a personal and intimate response to God’s faithfulness in our lives.
Speak words of thankfulness to God daily for His blessings, protection, and provision
Reflect on God’s Word and declare His promises aloud as a way of honoring His Truth.
Make it a habit to recount moments of answered prayers to bless His name publicly.
Keep a gratitude journal, listing ways God has been faithful, and let it shape a lifestyle of continual blessing
Living a life of obedience, trusting Him even when circumstances are difficult
Show God’s faithfulness by being His hands and feet in your church and community, reflecting on His character to others.
To praise the Lord oftentimes focuses on proclaiming God’s attributes and works in a more communal or outward way.
“Praise is the honey of life, which a devout heart extracts from every bloom of providence and grace.” —Charles Spurgeon
“Praise is inner health made audible.” “Blessing is a way to cultivate that health.” —C.S. Lewis Reflections of the Psalms
- I want to praise Him corporately because I’ve been blessing Him privately all week.
