Happy Resurrection Day!
What are the implications of the resurrection of Jesus?
(1 Corinthians 15:1-8) Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
What if there was no resurrection?
v.13-14 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
v. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God for we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead.
v.17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
v.18 Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.
v.19 If only for this life, we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
(Matthew 16:24) Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
v. 32 If the dead are not raised, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
What if Jesus did rise from the dead?
v.20 But if Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For, since death came through a man, the resurrection from the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
(Ephesians 2:1) You were dead in your trespasses and your sins.
Jesus did not die and rise again to make bad people good. He came to make dead people alive.
v. 24 Then the end will come when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all his enemies under his feet.
v. 42 The body that is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory, it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power, it is sown as a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
What kind of resurrection body will I have
A
ETERNAL (vs. 42)
B
POWERFUL (vs. 43):
v. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality …
v.54 Death has been swallowed up in victory …
Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.

Our Vision and Values
Recently we have been asking ourselves, what if our church was modeled or followed the pattern of the first church in the book of Acts? The result after much study and prayer is that we have determined that the following are the values of our church.
We value The Presence of God
Acts 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer…
We make room in our lives and in our church for prayer and worship.
We value Spirit Empowerment
Acts 1:8 You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you…
God never intended for us to live the Christian life or fulfill the mandate of the Church without the power of the Holy Spirit.
We value Biblical Engagement
Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching…
The Word of God is alive and the more we engage with it the more we will be transformed to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
We value a Great Commission Culture
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…
God wants all of us to be involved in reaching people who need Jesus.
We value Community
Acts 2:44-46 All the believers were together
There are 56 one another commands in Scripture we must follow.
We value The Priesthood Of The Believer
Acts 6:3 …choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them…
God has uniquely SHAPED all of us to be involved in serving others and meeting needs.
We value Every Generation
1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
God’s plan is for His church to be a family of spiritual fathers and mothers who invest in spiritual sons and daughters.
