chain reaction - a series of events, each caused by the previous one… can be either good or bad… depending on the events…
Exposure leads to thoughts. Thoughts lead to feelings. Feelings lead to actions. —-
gnats/ticks… fusion… DP/alcohol/drugs/porn… gun store… uff-da / y’all…
results of life aren’t random… based on what your heart is exposed to…
Prov 4:23… “guard your heart… it determines the course of your life…”
NKJV… “keep your heart… out of it spring the issues of life…”
TPT… “guard affections of your heart… they affect all that you are…”
NIV… “above all else, guard your heart… everything you do flows from it…”
can’t control what I’m exposed to… can’t help what I think, feel, do… that is a lie… God gave us emotions… good servants, but lousy masters… devil knows your triggers… brings negative emotions to move you away from God…
2Tim 3:16… “all scripture… is useful to teach us what is true… make us realize what is wrong… correct us… teach us to do right…”
Emotions are feelings on the inside, caused by pain or pleasure, to move you in a certain direction. —-
devil doesn’t want you on God’s path… exposes you to ungodly things which bring ungodly thoughts, feelings, and actions… that move you farther from God… pray…
let’s get this out of the way… you are responsible and accountable for what you expose your heart to… for your thoughts… your feelings… and your actions…
think about your life right now… do you ever wonder… how did I get here… all started with something you were exposed to… chain reaction… good or bad…
Rom 1:18-32… “they suppress truth… they know truth because God has made it obvious… wouldn’t worship or give thanks… as a result… minds became dark and confused… became utter fools… traded truth for a lie… as a result… their lives became full of every kind of sin…”
Rom 5:1-5… “access by faith into grace… rejoice when we run into problems… help us develop patient endurance… which develops character… which strengthens our hope… this hope does not disappoint… because God’s love has been poured into our hearts by HS…”
2Pet 1:3-9… “given promises… supplement faith with goodness… knowledge… self- control… endurance… godliness… brotherly affection… love… to keep from being useless…”
negative emotions will come… but how you deal with them is critical…
Psa 119:145… “great peace have those who love your word… nothing shall offend them…”
Prov 12:25… “worry in the heart causes depression… a good word makes it glad…”
Prov 17:22… “cheerful heart is good medicine… broken spirit dries up the bones…”
John 14:27… “peace I leave with you… do not let heart be troubled or afraid…”
James 1:2-8… “consider it great joy when troubles come… testing produces endurance… which allows us to be mature… doubter should not expect to receive anything from God…”
prolonged exposure to world leads to death… prolonged exposure to Word leads to life… don’t be moved by senses… be moved by truth of God’s word…
Rom 8:5-11… “mindset of the flesh is death… mindset of the Spirit is life and peace… mindset of flesh is hostile to God, can’t please God… you’re not in flesh, but in Spirit…”
2Cor 5:7… “we walk by faith… not by sight…”
Col 2:21-23… “don’t handle, don’t taste, don’t touch… have appearance of wisdom in religion… false humility… provide no value against indulgence of the flesh…”
to change actions… must change how you feel… to change feelings… must change how you think… to change thoughts… must change what you’re exposed to…
Prov 23:7… “as a man thinks in his heart… so is he…”
1Cor 15:33… “don’t be deceived… bad company corrupts good morals…”
what do you think about most… chain reaction of person you will become…
Job 21:6… “when I think about it… I am terrified… my body trembles in horror…”
Psa 63:6… “when I think of You… I will rejoice… I follow close to You…”
Psa 119:14-16… “I rejoice… I think about Your ways… I delight in Your word…”
Rom 3:9-17… “mouth is full of bitterness and cursing… destruction and misery follow…”
Gal 5:19-23… “follow man, result wickedness… follow HS, result love, joy, peace…” Phil 4:4-9… “rejoice… think about PERT PLAN… peace will guard your heart…”
Heb 12:15… “fall short of grace… root of bitterness springs up… causing trouble…”
how do you know what you’re thinking… what your heart really believes… listen…
Prov 18:21… “words kill, words give life… either poison or fruit… you choose…”
Luke 6:45… “out of the heart… the mouth speaks…”
2Cor 4:8-18… “I believed, therefore I spoke… we believe and therefore speak…”
don’t expose yourself to empty promises of the world… expose yourself to the great and precious promises of God… leads to Godly thinking, feeling, acting…
Matt 6:25-34… “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…”
Rom 3:21-26… “righteousness of God thru faith in Jesus to all who believe…”
Rom 10:10… “believe with the heart… resulting in righteousness…”
1Cor 15:34… “awake to righteousness and sin not (wander from path of God)…”
2Cor 5:17-21… “He became sin… we become righteousness of God in Christ…”
dikaiosyne… integrity, virtue, purity; correct thinking, acting, feeling…
are we forgiven… absolutely, but decisions come with consequences… can affect you and others for rest of your life… sin is always destructive… what you expose yourself too… good or bad… will eventually determine your results…
Mark 10:6-9… “God made them male and female… two will become one…”
1Cor 6:12-20… “flee sexual immorality… sin against your own body…”
Heb 13:4… “marriage should be honored… marriage bed kept pure…”
is life what you want it to be… then, ignore me… keep doing what you’re doing… but if you want different results… then, maybe this sermon isn’t useless…
Job 4:8… “those who plant trouble and evil… will harvest the same…”
Prov 11:24… “give freely, become wealthy… be stingy, lose everything…”
Matt 7:13-14… “path that leads to destruction… path that leads to life…”
Gal 6:7… “don’t be misled… you will always harvest what you plant…”
when you expose yourself more to truth of God’s word than lies of world… start a chain reaction of transformation to Godly thoughts, feelings, actions… pray..
Rom 12:2… “do not conform to world… be transformed by renewing of mind…”
2Cor 3:18… “gaze at goodness of God… transformed into same image… by HS…”
