We Matter - “Becoming Like Jesus Matters”
Romans 8:28-29
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
but here is the 2nd part:
For God knew his people in advance and he chose them to become like his son, so that his son might become first born among many brothers and sisters” (CSB)

Philippians 3:12-14
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
1. Spiritual growth starts with transformation.

2. You are dead to the old you.
Colossians 3:3-4
For you died to this life, and your life real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your real life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. (NLT)
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (NKJ)
3. So live differently.
Colossians 3:5-9
So put to death, the sinful, earthy thing lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You use to do these things when your life was still apart of this world. But now it is time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all it’s wicked deeds. (NLT)

4. Put on the new nature.
Colossians 3:10-11
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew of a gentile, circumcised of uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and He lives in all of us. (NLT)
