Saved Forever, IF

  1. In John 3:3 & 5, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you are , you cannot see or enter the Kingdom of God.”
  2. Some people believe that God sometimes overrides “man’s free will” to accept and serve Him, which really means that man is a free moral agent as the Bible says.
  3. Both Calvinists and Armenians that man was born into sin and needs a Savior.
  4. Calvinists believe in what’s known as “election,” meaning that God has chosen some to be , and others to remain .
  5. Therefore, the Calvinists have determined that Jesus died only for the .
  6. Truth be known, I believe the opinion of the Calvinists produces a spirit of “elite-ism” and has the tendency to drive people from God and the Truth.
  7. The Calvinists also believe that God’s saving grace be .
  8. John told us in 1 John 2:17 that he that does the will of God forever, which means to stay in a given place, state, , and expectancy.
  9. Those who embrace the doctrine of the Armenians believe that everyone is born a sinner, but has been given a spark of that enables them to respond positively to God. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
  10. God does not arbitrarily consign some people to eternal damnation, but their of His salvation makes them responsible.
  11. Jesus said that many are called, but few make the right choice; therefore, we believe that no one is ever by God to become a Christian!
  12. Armenians believe that one’s salvation can be lost through disobedience.
  13. Calvinists believe in unconditional predestination while Armenians teach “ predestination.”
  14. Actually, the ONLY predestination I believe the BIBLE teaches is found in Romans 8:29: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be to the of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
  15. Therefore, we do not have to fear some “external power” taking away our salvation, because only our of disobedience can do that.
  16. As sincere Christians, we must continually come to God. We must sincerely ask His when we “miss the mark,” and when we live below His expectations.
  17. Once saved CAN mean saved, IF we continue in faith, maintain a holy relationship with God, obey His Word and Holy Spirit, and grow in sanctification and holiness daily.

In view of the Biblical teaching that the security of the believer depends on a living relationship with Christ (John 15:6);
In view of the Bible’s call to a life of holiness (1Peter 1:16; Hebrews 12:14);
In view of the clear teaching that a man may have his part taken out of the Book of Life (Revelation 22:19);
And in view of the fact that one who believes for a while can fall away (Luke 8:13):

Days of Grace Fellowship disapproves of the unconditional security position which believes that it is impossible for a person once saved to be lost.
We do believe that salvation remains secure IF we maintain a lifestyle such as is discussed in #17.
