A Fresh and Relevant Look at Tithing

Gen. 14:20, “And Abraham gave him a tenth of everything.”

1. My giving my for God’s to me.

Genesis 28:22b. - “all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you.”

2. My expresses my __faith} that God has __100% of me.

• (Luke 3:11a) - “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none.
• (Luke 19:8) - And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.”.
• (Matt. 19:21) - Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”.
• (Luke 14:33) - ” So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.”

3. Giving to accomplishes more.

1Cor. 16:2, On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside…

What should I do?

2 Cor. 9:7, Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

  3. : we are better together.
