INTRODUCTION
When God calls us for bigger things, it can be scary. Bigger things and bigger dreams require full dependency on God as we step into the unknown. People live with fear every day which can paralyze us and hinder our ability to move forward.
Imagine your life without fear! Come and discover how Joshua conquered his fears through a strong dependency on God.
Big faith is confident obedience to the Word of God regardless of the circumstances or the consequences. God told Joshua to “be strong and of good courage; be not afraid.” (Joshua 1:9)
In this collection of talks, we will look at Joshua’s life and learn how to trust God more and fear less.

CONQUERING FEAR WEEK #4:
Stepping Out on Faith When Others Won’t
I. KEEP YOUR
FOCUSED ON GOD (3:1-4)
““This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who leads you in the way you should go.” —Isaiah 48:17
“Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” —Hebrews 12:2
“For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. 15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “’Abba, Father!” —Romans 8:14-15
II. KEEP YOUR
PREPARED FOR GOD (3:5-7)
“For I am the Lord your God, so you must consecrate yourselves and be holy because I am holy…” —Leviticus 11:44a
“For this is God’s will, your sanctification: that you keep away from sexual immorality, 4that each of you knows how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 5not with lustful passions, like the Gentiles, who don’t know God.” —1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
“For the eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth to show himself strong for those who are wholeheartedly devoted to him.” —2 Chronicles 16:9
III. KEEP YOUR EARS
INTO GOD (3:8-13)
“I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with my eye on you, I will give counsel.” —Psalm 32:8
“’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways.’ This is the Lord’s declaration. 9’For as heaven is higher than earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” —Isaiah 55:8-9
“My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.” —John 10:27
IV. KEEP
IN MIRACLES (3:14-6:27)
“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us — 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” —Ephesians 3:20-21
A. Miracle #1: The waters of the Jordan
The Jordan River stopped flowing long enough for two to three million people and hundreds of thousands of animals to cross over it – and to cross it not in oozing mud, but on “dry ground” (3:17)
“Now this is what the Lord says —the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel —’Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine.
2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and the rivers will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, and the flame will not burn you. 3For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior.’” —Isaiah 43:1-2
B. Miracle #2: The walls of Jericho
“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after being marched around by the Israelites for seven days.” —Hebrews 11:30
The
“’Where can we go? Our brothers have made us lose heart, saying: The people are larger and taller than we are; the cities are large, fortified to the heavens. We also saw the descendants of the Anakim there.’ 29“So I said to you: ‘Don’t be terrified or afraid of them! 30The Lord your God who goes before you will fight for you, just as you saw him do for you in Egypt.’” —Deuteronomy 1:28-30
“He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens — 21far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as head over everything for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.” —Ephesians 1:20-23
The
“I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. 14Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord.” —Psalms 27:13-14
