“To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven…For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied;”—Matthew 13:11-12 (AMP)
Power
God’s power is found in and we receive God’s power from His
Then the disciples came to Him and asked, “Why do You speak to the crowds in parables?” Jesus replied to them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied;” —Matthew 3:10-12 (AMP)
Focused
- These define our character
to Serve
Devaluing the Word
“but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word], even what he has will be taken away from him. This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things].” —Matthew 13:10-13 (AMP)
This devaluing God’s word explains how we can be doers [having the power to serve] but do not actually do [don’t serve] for the Kingdom!
No soil of character, no mindset of service
Thought - I might think about all the ministry services and all our talents we can offer to serve
Will - I may even decide and commit and volunteer (make a covenant) to serve
Action - I may go as far as to show up to serve
“This is the person who hears and instantly responds with enthusiasm. But there is no soil of character, and so when the emotions wear off and some difficulty arrives, there is nothing to show for it.” —Matthew 13:20-21 (MSG)
If the power of God’s word has not focused our character to serve, “when the emotions wear off and some difficulty arrives” our service and our servant’s mindset will be a no show, M.I.A., idle/absent for the Kingdom!
