Read Galatians 2:1-14
Icebreaker — When was a time you were in the “in” crowd? What about on the outside?
What were the “false brothers” in v. 4 trying to add to the gospel? Why did this make them false Christians?
What is the slavery of a false gospel of works? Even Christians like Peter and Barnabas believed this lie at times; how have you believed it in your own life?
In this passage, Paul seeks both to unite Christians and point out false Christians. Where do you think the American church should widen circles to show unity and draw lines of division to preserve the truth of the gospel?
Why does the gospel eliminate any kind of social classes among Christians? How have you seen this happen?
What demographic of Christians do you feel unable to relate to? How could you build relationships with this group within our church to display the unity of the gospel?
What types of non-Christians do you feel uncomfortable around? How could you build relational bridges to these types of people to share the gospel?
Why does justification by faith alone produce freedom and unity? How would a deeper understanding of the gospel grow you in these areas?
