How has God Revealed Himself to Us?
They know the truth about God because He has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:19-20
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. Romans 10:17

CONNECTION GROUP GUIDE
Opening Question:
- What are your early memories about what you thought God was like from when you were a kid?
Key Takeaways:
- God has revealed Himself through General Revelation (nature, creation) and Specific Revelation (the Bible, Jesus).
- Understanding God’s attributes helps us relate to Him better and trust Him more.
- God is Creative, Caring, Consistent, Close, in Control, and Communal.
Questions to Talk About:
- Many Christians are living on spiritual “desserts” instead of solid theological food. What do you think this means? How can we make sure we’re getting the right spiritual nourishment?
- When have you been in awe of God’s creation? How does that lead you to know and worship God more fully?
- Which of God’s attributes mentioned in the sermon (Creative, Caring, Consistent, Close, in Control, Communal) resonates most with you right now? Why?
- Pastor Cole said, “The One who knows you the best loves you the most.” How does this impact your view of God and your relationship with Him?
- How can understanding God as consistent and unchanging reinforce your trust in Him, especially during difficult times?
- What does it mean to you that God is “close” and wants an intimate relationship with us?
- In what areas of your life do you struggle to believe that God is in control, and how might surrendering those areas to Him change your perspective?
- How does the idea of the Trinity (God as Communal) influence our understanding of relationships and community?
Practical Applications:
- Spend time in nature this week, intentionally looking for evidence of God’s creativity and power. Journal about what you observe.
- Practice calling God “Abba” or “Daddy” in your prayers this week. Reflect on how this impacts your prayer life.
- Identify one area of your life where you struggle to trust God. Commit to surrendering that area to Him, remembering His attributes of being in control and consistent.
- Choose one way to deepen your knowledge of God this week (e.g., study a specific attribute in Scripture, read a theology book, or listen to a podcast about God’s nature).
- Share with the group next week how focusing on God’s attributes has influenced your daily life and relationship with Him.
Closing Prayer:
Thank God for revealing Himself to us and invite Him to continue deepening your understanding and experience of who He is.
