You have authority to make disciples!

  • Jesus

His mission in full obedience to the Father. (Daniel 7:14, Ephesians 1:4-10)

  • Jesus

how to make disciples. (Mark 1:16-17)

You have the green light - GO!

You have Jesus’ presence, guidance, and strength.

  • Presence (John 14:15-17, 16:7, Romans 8:11, 2 Corinthians 5:5-6)

  • Guidance (John 14:26, 16:13, Mark 13:11)

  • Strength (Ephesians 6:10)

How do I live this out?

FAITH TALK

We Make Disciples: What does it mean to make disciples?
Matthew 28:18-20
August 11, 2024

As you gather around the table as family or friends, discuss the following questions related to today’s message.

  • During the message, we talked about what it means to make disciples. Why does it matter that Jesus has given you the authority to share the gospel? How does that authority that Jesus possesses change the way you think about making disciples? Talk about Jesus’ model of discipleship and why that model matters today.

  • Who are you discipling? List out the people in your life you have influence over. How are you using that influence for good in their lives? How are you intentionally injecting God’s truth into conversations and circumstances. Where do you need to be more intentional as you look to make disciples?

  • Jesus ended this “great commission” reminding his disciples that he is with them. Why does his presence matter? Talk about a time where God prepared you for a conversation or situation you encountered. Do you trust that God will continue to guide you and give you strength to make disciples of those in your circles of influence?
