3. Read 1 Thessalonians 4:1. What do you think the difference is between working for God’s love and working to please God? Why should we strive for one and not the other?
   

4. When you compare yourself to other Christians, do you tend to think you are superior or inferior to them? What does this reveal about your heart?
   

5. What does this week’s Scripture mean by being enslaved? How does this kind of enslavement negatively effect our church community?
   

6. Why is justification by faith alone at the heart of the gospel? Why is the gospel lost without it?
   

7. If you have received God’s promise through faith, what does that mean that you now have? If this is true, how does it change the trajectory and priorities of your life?
