“Just trust me.”
We’ve all heard those words before, and many of us know the pain that follows broken trust. Trust is more than just a feeling; it’s a commitment where your heart and head must be aligned. It’s bigger than ethics or honesty. It’s about motive, understanding, ability, character, and more. Words are fragile, and trust can be easily shattered.
In this series, Trust Issues, we dive deep into understanding the essence of trust, why we struggle with it, and how we can repair it when it’s broken. We’ll navigate the complexities of trust and learn how to rebuild and strengthen this vital component of our relationships.

Week 2 … Trust Issues
The fourth building block to building trust … Character
Morality is a great starting place for character… but it takes a whole lot more to develop our character and become TRUSTWORTHY.
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. —NLT 2 Peter 1:5–7
This is a ladder… step ladder of faith
1st step is FAITH… trust
2nd step MORAL EXCELLENCE
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. —NLT 2 Peter 1:3
3rd step KNOWLEDGE
4th step SELF-CONTROL
The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.” —NLT Psalm 32:8–9
5th step PATIENT ENDURANCE
6th step GODLINESS
7th step BROTHERLY AFFECTION
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” —NLT John 13:34–35
8th step LOVE
These steps were never intended to be something you pursue or achieve on your own…
