It’s Time To Go (A People that Evangelize)

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I. ALL AUTHORITY IS HIS.

“All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”
Matthew 28:18

II. JESUS LOVES YOU!

“for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son…”
John 3:16

“the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.”
Revelation 13:8

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ…”

III. THE GREAT COMMISSION.

• Jesus leaves the church with this assignment: to preach to the world the message of salvation, the Gospel of Jesus.

• This command is in the first 5 books of the New Testament: all 4 Gospels and The Book of Acts.

• It’s a command to GO, not come.

IV. AUTHORITY TRANSFER

18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:18-19 NIV

• Gates are defensive access points of entry but are NOT threatening.

• When the church starts to GO, not even Satan and the gates of hell can withstand the onslaught of a Christian who knows how to carry the Gospel.
