A.I. Authentic Intelligence - The Call to Discipleship Luke 5:1-11

ai title copy.jpg

Romans 8:29
“for God knew his people in advance and he chose them to become like his son…”

Jeremiah 1:5
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a my prophet to the nations”

1. The call of God is set up by God…

Luke 5:1-2
“One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. He noticed two fishing boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.”

2 Corinthians 5:17
That means those who become Christians become new persons, they are not the same anymore, for the old is gone. A new life has begun.

1 John 4:18
Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear.

2. Jesus is not looking for your permission to call you…

Luke 5:3-4
“Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, it owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there…”

3. The call of Jesus into discipleship is not about you and your timing…

Luke 5:4-7
“When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon. “Now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets to catch some fish.”. “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.”. This time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners from the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.

4. The call of Jesus demands a response…

Luke 5: 8-11
“When Simon realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, ” Oh, Lord, please leave me…I am too much of a sinner to be around you.”. For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as well as the others with him. His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, we’re also amazed. Jesus replaced to Simon, “Don’t be afraid, from now own you will be fishing for people.”. As soon as they had landed they left everything and followed Jesus.”
