1. Read Mark 3:7-12

a. Where did the great multitude come from? Why is this significant? Why were they drawn to Jesus?

b. Why did Jesus as the disciples to have a boat “kept ready?” What can we learn from this example that applies to ministry practices today?

c. Why did Jesus “sternly warn” the demons to “not make Him known?” Why not take the free press?

2. Read Mark 3:13-19
a. Why did Jesus call some “up on the mountain?”

b. What type of biblical training did these individuals have? What can we glean from Jesus’ decision to choose preachers?

c. What do we know about the following “preachers” who were chosen: Peter, James, John, Thomas, and Judas? Why would Jesus select these men? Given their qualifications, how many of these men would be chosen to be part of prominent churches today? Why or why not?
