Big Idea: How do we put up our sail to receive a fresh wind from God?
“ 15 If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be with you.
18 I will not leave you as orphans: I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you will also live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you…” —John 14:15-20
“ 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” —John 14:26-27
(1.) The Holy Spirit is our HELPER
“ 18 I will not leave you as orphans: I will come to you.” —John 14:18
“ 4 Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” —Acts 1:4-5
“ 26 But the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” —John 14:26
“ 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” —Psalm 119:11
Action: To receive a fresh wind from the Spirit, I must be in the WORD daily
(2.) The Holy Spirit gives us PEACE
“ 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives…” —John 14:27
“ 33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33
“ 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, the comfort me.” —Psalm 23:1-4
Action: To receive a fresh wind from the Spirit, I must practice the PRESENCE of God

(3.) The Holy Spirit gives STRENGTH and COURAGE
“ 13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” —Acts 4:13
“ 13 I can do everything through Him who gives us strength.” —Philippians 4:13
Action: To receive a fresh wind from the Spirit, I must welcome into my life the strength and power of the Holy Spirit
