Rumors of a Savior - The Return
The take away: What the Bible says about the final generation before Jesus returns. In the New Testament the religious leaders, the political figures, society, and even those closest to Jesus missed the promise of a messiah. Will we miss the signs of His return?
Introduction: Today, we will be looking at the events before His return. What must we do to prepare for it? The Bible teaches that no man knows the day nor the hour of Jesus return BUT are there signs? With all the rumors of His return and talk of end times are we in the last generation? By comparing Genesis 6 and Matthew 24, many people will be amazed how close we are to Jesus coming back. Compare the generation of Noah and the last generation.

Genesis 6:1 When men began to increase in number on the earth…
II. Increase in Sin and Worldwide
Genesis 6:5 The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.
Matthew 24:12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold…

Matthew 24:38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
24:39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
2 Peter 3:3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. [4] They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” NIV
IV. The Mocking of the
Luke 21:34 “Be careful (be watchful, be prepared.), or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. [35] For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. [36] Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
