INTRO
The church is an assembly of believers to go out and share the gospel and make disciples.
In order to do this effectively, we need the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Once when He was eating with them, He commanded them,
“Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift He promised,
as I told you before.” —Acts of the Apostles 1:4 NLT
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.
And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—
in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” —Acts of the Apostles 1:8 NLT
Our own human strength is not enough to save people.
Being Spirit-led and Spirit-empowered, gives us the boldness and courage to overcome our fears.
PRAY AND PREPARE
As we pray for divine encounters, we prepare ourselves with our resources
(business cards, invitations, brochures).
Today, we will take a look at the significance of why the church must be Spirit-led
and Spirit-empowered.
TEXT
The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers. —Acts 9:31 NLT
TEACHING
THE POWER OF GOD WAS PRESENT
After every crisis there’s a time of peace and growth.
The gospel began to spread.
- We need to prepare our other gatherings and small groups for revival
and retaining the harvest.
Many people will not be honest because they fear
loss of intimacy and togetherness.
In reality, honesty brings people closer together.
It strengthens their individual identities.
The more you realize your separate identities, the closer you can become.
Telling loved ones what is really on your mind and telling others
what you really think is the foundation of love. —– Dr. Henry Cloud
A Place to Experience the Holy Spirit
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” —2 Corinthians 3:17 NLT
The church should be more than a place where people hear about God;
it is a place where we experience the power of the Holy Spirit.
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work
and build up the church, the body of Christ.
This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith
and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord,
measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. —Ephesians 4:12-13 NLT
We are firm in our principles, flexible in our process.
