Step One: Open
Read Matthew 1:1-17 and pray to open your time together in God’s word.

Step Two: Icebreaker (Optional)
Does anyone in the group have a genealogy that relates them to someone famous? If so, who and how?

Step Three: Discuss

  1. What stood out to you the most in this weekend’s teaching? What was challenging, encouraging, or confusing to you?

  2. Recap the women mentioned in the message. Which do you most easily identify with and why? * Men can answer this question too :)

  3. When was the last time you received good news and what was it about? How did you respond?

  4. In what ways do we find ourselves responding to good news in this life like how we respond to the good news of Jesus Christ?

  5. Why is something like radical inclusion found Jesus Christ such good news?

  6. How should this type of good news impact how you live once you are a Christian?

  7. In what ways are you hoping the good news of Jesus Christ will show up in your life this Christmas week?

  8. How can we be praying for each other as we approach Christmas? Share one personal and one general request each.
