Key Verses: 2 Peter 1:1-15

Opening Question: When have you grown most in your life, emotionally and or spiritually? What was the cause of that growth?

1. Read 2 Peter 1:1-4
a. Discuss the importance of Jesus being both God and Savior.

b. The word “knowledge” used in this passage conveys that one knows a fact but understands that fact. So why is it critical for believers (disciples of Christ) to know and understand?

i. How does Live, Love, Learn help with understanding?

2. Read 2 Peter 1:5-7
a. Peter declares that we need to, with “all diligence, add to [our] faith.” What are these characteristics? Why are they critical? Which do you struggle with most?

3. Read 2 Peter 1:8-9
a. What happens if we add to our faith in the ways discussed in the previous section?

b. What happens if we do not?

c. Have you ever found yourself shortsighted and blind, having forgotten what Jesus accomplished? How did you turn things around?

4. Read 2 Peter 1:10-15
a. On a scale from 1-10 (1= Virtually not at all and 10 being the best a human could do), where would you rate your walk with the Lord? Are you trending up or down.
