Be Witnesses

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. - Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

To live the Christian life is to

the assignment of being a witness for Christ.

The Holy Spirit is present to empower us to be witnesses.

“To be a witness for Christ is to bring a message that is a marvel of simplicity: Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh; he died to pay for our sins; he was resurrected; now he is exalted in Heaven; he calls us to believe in him and so receive forgiveness of sins. This is good news. There is nothing to join, no system to climb—just a person to receive and, in him, eternal life.” – R. Kent Hughes

To Be a Witness, We Must Have:

Christianity without the

is not much more than mankind’s attempt at a social utopia.

Christianity is not an attempt to create social harmony, it’s putting Christ at the center of humanity.

Romans 1:16

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:4-10 (ESV)

Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” - Luke 15:1-2 (NKJV)

Luke 15:4-31 (NKJV)

You

value in what you search for, work for and prepare for.

Each one of us must answer the question, “

in the story of the prodigal?”

Today is the greatest day of all time to share the

!

Today is the greatest day to share the gospel, because today could be the

day!

The Christian faith spread in a setting that was not

or beneficial to the faith.

If the Bible is clear that we are to share our faith and that transformed lives are living testimonies of our faith in Christ, why in the world are people not actively engaged in this most simple component of the Christian life?

The ONLY thing you need to share salvation with another is the

of your salvation.

You keep the joy by never forgetting the

of salvation.

When you find what you have been looking for, you

!

Have you found Jesus? Is He what you were looking for?

Salvation does not end with you, it begings with you so that others can know the love of Christ just like you.

The only way not to share your transforming faith is to

.

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:13-16 (NKJV)

Next Steps

  1. Reflect on the joy of your salvation.
  2. Recognize who is missing.
  3. Refuse to give up until those far from God are near to God.
  4. INVITE someone to Easter at Calvary! Who is your invite:
