Day 146 - Accepting Salvation

Paulette Baker

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” - Romans 10:9-10 NLT

As we close out this week, I want to remind you that the acceptance of salvation through Jesus is simple. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. This is not an act that you have to do every time you sin. Instead, when you receive salvation from Jesus, you are saved – period.

Like the painting we discussed on Day 143 that the woman found in the thrift store had value, we have eternal value when we accept salvation. This passage of Scripture acts as God’s authentic signature, if you will. It gives us value and identifies our connection with His promise for eternal life. This salvation is a gift from God, and to receive it, all we must do is believe in our hearts that He is who He says He is and confess that He is Lord of all!

Next Steps

  • Think about it: Have I truly accepted salvation through Jesus Christ? How do I know?

  • Action Step: If you have not made the decision to accept salvation through Jesus, we encourage you to pray about making this choice. For more information, including a prayer to pray through, visit www.dl.church/salvation.
