How We Got Here: When men left the home, boys had to figure out manhood for themselves.

B) Turn from your idols and worship the living God (v. 14)
C) Choose today: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (v.14-15)

- How would you describe a “real, good man”?
- Why do you think God created humans as having distinct genders?
- Other than Jesus, who in the bible comes to mind as exhibiting the best qualities of a real and good man? Why?

- Pastor Josh talked about how many men hold two competing scripts for masculinity. Describe the “Good” Man versus the “Real” Man. Which one is more important, and why?
- Who have you known personally that you would describe as being a “good man”? In what way?
- How would you describe God’s call for manhood, and how does that contrast with our culture’s current view of manhood?
- What effect do you think fatherlessness, absentee fathers, and checked out fathers has had on how well boys today can learn what it means to be a man?
- Read Joshua 24:1-15. What is it Joshua is calling them to, and why? How can this same call apply for men to step up today?
- How can we together pray for, encourage, and inspire young men to walk into the vision of Christian manhood that God has called them to?
