THE GREAT SUSTAINER

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. —Psalms 55:22

HE SUSTAINS ME AS THE PERFECT FATHER

14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
16  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. —Romans 8:14 - 17

1. He sustains me as my Great High Priest.

JEHOVAH TSIDKENU

5  “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
6  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. —Jeremiah 23:5 - 6

And when He has come, He will
convict the world of sin, and
of righteousness,
and of judgment. —John 16:8

12  For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13  And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
14  Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
16  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. —Hebrews 4:12 - 16

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin
for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. —2 Corinthians 5:21

2. He sustains me as a Father through provision.

JEHOVAH JIREH

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” —Genesis 22:14

As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, —2 Peter 1:3

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. —Psalms 119:105

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. —Ephesians 1:13

22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. —Galatians 5:22-23

3. He sustains me as a Father through His protection.

JEHOVAH NISSI

And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner. —Exodus 17:15

So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. —Isaiah 59:19

1  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”
3  Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. —Psalms 91:1 - 3

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. —Romans 12:2

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. —1 Corinthians 1:18

4. He sustains me as a Father with His presence.

JEHOVAH SHAMMAH

All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.” —Ezekiel 48:35

1  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2  Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3  Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah —Psalms 46:1 - 3

19  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. —Matthew 28:19 - 20
