God With Us • Week 2 December 11th, 12th, 13th
Matthew 1:23
23“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
God was so crazy in love with us, He came down to earth to be with us…
Isaiah 9:6-7
6For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Waiting is hard, maybe one of the harder things we have to do.
3 Phases of waiting…
1. Excitement and/or Anticipation
2. Tired of waiting
3. Giving Up
Hebrews 11:13
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
God will use seasons of waiting to shape us.
God‘s grace will help you persevere through the waiting, and will abound when you don’t wait well.
Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 37:7 NLT
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
He is with you in the waiting.
*He gives us His Presence*
Matthew 20:28
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Isaiah 41:10 NLT
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Galatians 6:9
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
God’s grace will help you persevere through the waiting, and will abound when you don’t wait well.
He sees you
He hears you
He’s with you
