Prayer for Our Immediate Neighbors
Day Two
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
—1 Peter 4:8-9
Hospitality is a lost value in our culture today. In our present day, it is all too easy to hide away in our homes and never cross the lawn or the street to intentionally build relationships with those around us. God has placed each of us in a unique and strategic location to reach the people around us. May we be a people who know our neighbors and welcome them into our homes regularly.
Lord, we acknowledge that hospitality is hard for many of us. Would you grant us the grace needed to be more hospitable to our immediate neighbors and our brothers and sisters in Christ? Give us opportunities to meet our neighbors and to build relationships with them. Help us to pursue relationships and opportunities to serve those around us. May our hospitality be an open door into gospel conversations. Amen.
As you go through your day:
1. Pray that God grants us the grace to go out of our way to be hospitable to our neighbors.
2. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with the people we live around.
3. Next time you see one of your neighbors outside, say hello and strike up a conversation with them.
