1. Listen to the Message
Today’s Scriptures:
Matthew 16:13-18
Your eternal future hinges in how you answer the questions, Who is Jesus?
Information without application will not lead to transformation.
Jesus
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her. —Ephesians 5:25
A true Christian cannot love Jesus and hate His church.
Jesus
You will never find a perfect church.
Jesus is
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. —Matthew 28:19-20
The “one anothers” don’t just bless the person on the receiving end, they build the person on the giving end.
Iron cannot sharpen iron from a distance.
My Additional Notes:
2. Discuss in a Life Group
READ TOGETHER:
Matthew 16:13 Now when Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets.” 15 He *said to them, “But who do you yourselves say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. —Matthew 16:13-18
DISCUSS
Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” How would you answer that question? Who do you say Jesus is?
How can you be sure that you are applying information in a way that leads to transformation?
