Everyone Gets to Play
1. We are all
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
James 1:22
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it”.
1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27
2. We need
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I’m going to the father. All this I’ve spoken while still with you. But the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.
John 14:12-25
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13
3. We are all
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
Matthew 28:18-20
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
