Life Group Questions – April 3-4, 2021
He has Risen! He has Risen indeed! This Easter message, Pastor Al preached from Luke 24:1-7.

Pastor Al’s theme for this Easter is a “Remedy” for sin.

What is Sin? How would God define sin and what does His word say about it? You don’t have to share, but what is your personal definition of sin? What do you struggle with?
Read Romans 3:23-24. Why is our sin not the end of the story? How has “Easter” or more accurately, the resurrection secured our redemption in Christ?

Pastor Al said that “Mankind will never take seriously the cure until we know the truth about the
disease!”

Think about the statement above and relate that to today but also all the way back to Old Testament times? How did even the Old Testament laws point to redemption and salvation?
Describe how God’s love is demonstrated in the fact that we must know the depths of our sin to realize there is a Savior. When was that point for you?

Pastor Al talked a lot about the “Cultural Christian” and the “Casual Christian” and he said that there is a strong delusion, see Matthew 7:21-23.

What steps can you take to ensure you are NOT one of these so-called Christians? How can you help others around you to have confidence in their faith as well?
What might it look like to minister to someone who calls themselves a Christian but is under strong delusion? How can we respond to the Cultural Christian?

Pastor Al talked about Nicodemus being a “Religious Christian”. He said that there are a lot of people that call themselves Christians but are not in relationship with Christ.

What is the difference between Religion and Relationship? How can this change you this week to be more in relationship and less in religion?
Read 1 Corinthians 13. What about the resurrection allows us to reject religion and adhere to a relationship? Where in your life have you been inadvertently overly religious and rejecting the relationship?

Pastor Al concluded by saying Jesus alone is our Remedy and that through the great exchange He took the curse for us.

Do we live each day in light of the spirit of resurrection? Read John 11:25-26. How can we have contagious joy through our relationship with Christ and enough to cause others to see Christ in us?
