Key Verse:
Exodus 27:20-21
20 “And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to [a]burn continually. 21 In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the Lord. It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.
Everyone Can Walk in the Anointing
The anointing can be continuously walked in. It was was never meant to be walked in by a few gifted people, but by God’s entire church.
Believe it or not, but every single born again believer carries within them the anointing of God; yeet, we must equip every believer to go from carrying it to conveerting it into a real outcome in people’s lives.
There are three ways to ubderstand how to continuously walk in the anointing available from God to you.
1 Knowing ABOUT the Anointing
20 “And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light
Discussion Questions:
1. What about the anointing has been an area of misunderstanding in your walk with God?
2. How does God desiring you, his Church, to be his lampstand impact your life?
2 Knowing HOW TO FLOW in the Anointing
20 “And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light to cause the lamp to burn continually.
Discussion Questions:
1 Flowing in the anointing involves OIL for the lamp, a WICK to convert the oil into LIGHT, and a Priest to send the fire.
- Which of these three components are you most in need of to start walking in God’s anointing?
2 What area(s) of your life can you pinpoint that contriubutes to the anointing fluctating in your life rather than it being continual?
3 Knowing how to MAINTAIN the Anointing
21 In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the Lord.
Discussion Questions:
1 In the Seven Churches, Jesus, like a high preists, went and tended each lamp to either supply it with oil, or to trim its wick:
- Which of the seven churches do you think your generation mostly resmembles? As a group, pray for your city asking God to supply more oil and to trim each wick where it’s needed.
Ephesus — The Loveless Church (Revelation 2:1-7)
Smyrna — The Suffering Church (Revelation 2:8-11)
Pergamos — The Compromising Church (Revelation 2:12-17)
Thyatira — The Adulterous Church (Revelation 2:18-29)
Sardis — The Dead Church (Revelation 3:1-6).
Philadelphia - Faithful Church (Revelation 3:1-6).
Laodicea — The Lukewarm Church (Revelation 3:14-22)
- Only the churches of Smyrna & Philadelphia had no rebukes and only praise!
Action Item
This week, take time to seek God, the Holy Spirit, and ask him to trim your wick where it is needed so you may shine brighter for his glory.
- Record in your journal what he speaks to you, and then record every noticeable change in your life.
