The Process - grinding down the seed of self to release the Spirit of a redemptive life, lived for the benefit of others.

NKJV Ps. 51:6

Matt. 5:21-22

When Jesus says, “But I say,” He amplifies that the heart motive is far above outward performance. Jesus teaches the power, weight, and demand of the Law.

Adultery

Matt. 5:27-28

We need a SAVIOR! Living surrendered and repentant before God empowers us to live in our freedom. Sin becomes powerless when we keep our eyes on Jesus.

In 2 Sam. 11 King David, operating in The Flesh/Narcissism, produced one of his worst failures.

These are 4 points of narcissistic/flesh behavior exemplified in King David.

Sense of Entitlement
In our walk with God, going from “a worm for Jesus” to “I’m the head and not the tail” can create a sense of entitlement. Spiritual flesh is still flesh.

Manipulative Behavior
Justifying bad behavior and manipulating Scripture to do so only leads to more deception and pain.

Need for Admiration
Wanting to be someone’s savior or hero feeds spiritual flesh. It stinketh.

Arrogance
Thinking that God is okay with your sin only pushes you closer to your sin being exposed. God would much rather you repent.

2 Sam. 12:13-14
Numbers 32:23
Ps. 103:12
2 Samuel 12:24
Psalm 51:17

Walking in the Spirit – Altruism. You always put others first.
Col. 3:12-15
