September 26: Baby Dedication

Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents make a commitment before the Lord to submit their child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s word and God’s ways.

Our next Baby Dedication will be held on Sunday, September 26 at 4:00pm.

At TrueNorth Church, we believe child dedication is an important step and should not be taken lightly. Parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise their child in a godly way until he or she can make a decision on their own to follow God.

We require first-time TrueNorth Baby Dedication parents to attend our Baby Dedication Parent Class, taught by Pastor Steve Davis, so our staff can get to know you better. It also gives you an opportunity to ask questions and have a better understanding of the commitment you are about to make. Our goal is to stand alongside you as you parent your child, providing tools which guide them in loving the Lord. If you have previously attended a TrueNorth Baby Dedication, you will need to register for Baby Dedication, but will not need to attend the class, just the picture appointment.

Baby Dedication Parent Class will be held Monday, September 20 at 6:30pm. Childcare will be provided, but you must indicate that need on your registration.

Register for Baby Dedication and the Parent Class here.

Get Out of Your Head

Are your thoughts holding you captive? Jennie Allen knows what it’s like to swirl in a spiral of destructive thoughts, such as I’ll never be good enough. Other people have better lives than I do. God couldn’t really love me. God built a way for us to escape that downward spiral. Freedom comes when we refuse to be victims to our thoughts and realize we have already been equipped with power from God to fight and win the war for our minds. This class does require the purchase of a study book. Information regarding a scholarship will be available on the registration link.
This class is for women only.

Unpacking the Bible

Learn the major themes of the Bible and the principal characters. October 3: Walk for Water

Every day, millions of women and children in developing countries walk nearly 4 miles to retrieve water for their family’s daily needs. In most cases, even after walking for miles and miles, the water they have to drink is contaminated.

The CSRA is uniting both in-person and virtually to bring safe water to hundreds of men, women, and children across the world. The Walk for Water 2021 will bring together teams to boldly battle the global water crisis which affects 2.1 billion people around the world. Together, we can make a real difference by bringing safe water to people in need. Register or donate today.

Our walk will simulate this trek to raise awareness of the global water crisis here in our community. Each participant will start the walk with an empty bucket. About halfway through, they will fill that bucket with water and complete the remainder of the course. We hope that all participants end the walk with a better understanding of the challenges people around the world face daily in search of something that we often take for granted – water.

Learn more and register here.

For the One Pledges

The mission of TrueNorth Church is to lead people into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ. Since TrueNorth launched in 2004, the words of Jesus in Luke 15 have defined who we are and what we are about. “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them – what do you do? You leave the other ninety-nine sheep in the pasture and go looking for the one that got lost until you find it.” (Luke 15:4)

For The One is a two-phase capital campaign. The first phase was designed to generate $1.3 million to begin the loan process with our lender. We have completed phase one and are so excited to begin phase two! In phase two, we will be generating the funds necessary for construction costs.

Your commitment to this goal helps us plan for our future. To complete a digital pledge card, click here or text PLEDGE to 803.279.1555.

You can learn more about For the One at truenorthchurch.com/fortheone.

2021 Bible Reading Plan

Follow along with TrueNorth’s Bible Reading Plan as we walk through the entire New Testament in 2021. Our plan is designed so that you read one chapter during the week and a short selection from Psalms or Proverbs on the weekends. Pick up a copy of the TrueNorth Bible Reading Plan on campus, download a digital copy from our website here, or follow along through the digital resource on the TrueNorth App.

We are selling NLT Slimline Bibles for $10 and NLT LifeApp Study Bibles for $50 if you wish to read via a non-digital format.

Book Overviews: As we continue on our 2021 Bible Reading Plan together, we will be publishing a brief overview of each book. In less than 5 minutes you will have a quick grasp of what you will be reading, who wrote it, and why it was written. Our desire is that it helps you know your Bible better and get more out of your time in it.
If you would like to receive outlines as they are released, sign up here.
