Warm Up Question:
When in your life did you feel most rested? What brought you to that rest?
HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read Exodus 20:8-11. Why did God give the Israelites this command?
2. Read Mark 2: 23-28. What does it mean that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath?
HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
3. What keeps you from finding real rest when you have a day or time off? What distractions may you need to avoid?
4. What would you have to change if you wanted to find real rest on the Sabbath? Does the idea of making those excite or scare you?
5. Why wouldn’t you want to make those changes?
HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
6. What day, or what chunk of a day, can you set aside for rest?
7. What activities will you avoid during that time?
