Fruits of the Spirit
Galatians 5:13-26
“PEACE”
The third fruit of the Spirit that Paul talks about is
.
Acting in a way that leads to true and
peace is not part of our natural human tendencies. (Isaiah 59:8, Galatians 5:20-21).
So, What is peace?
God is the
of peace who gives peace (2 Thess. 3.16).
God is
. (Rom. 15.33, 16.20; 1 Cor. 14.33; 2 Cor. 13.11; Phil. 4.9; 1 Thess. 5.23)
The God of peace is the most
reality that there is.
Peace includes a calm, harmonious absence of
that this world has never known. (Jeremiah 8:11, James 4:1-4, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Corinthians 2:9, 14).
There is a reason that the majority of people in the world cannot even begin to
the peace offered by God:
They have been blinded and
(2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 12:9).
This is even true in the
realm (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
It is a way of
life in a proper relationship between man and God, as well as man and man.
Why does God want us to demonstrate peace? (Romans 12:18)
A true Christian’s job in demonstrating peace is to show the world what
peace looks like: a calm contentment through being as close to God as possible, which exhibits the other spiritual fruits, including love, patience, kindness and gentleness. (Matthew 5:9).
An example of peace to
(Genesis 13:8-9).
An example to
(1 Kings 2:5-6, Matthew 26:52).
First, Drop
that are getting out of hand.
Second, Make yourself stand out as the calm and collected one in whatever
you experience.
Third, Respect other human beings as
future members of the family of God.
Fourth, Remember that there will be
peace one day, when Christ returns to earth and sets things right one final time.
