• With children peaks at 40
• With your partner peaks at 70
• Alone peaks at the end
The devil is just as aware of our need for community as we are, if not more so, and he uses that awareness to gain the upper hand in the fight, doing all he can to cut us off from community with God’s people and from God himself. In the digital age, we make his job a breeze. Hurry, pathological busyness, distraction, smartphone addiction, the constant stream of alerts and interruptions-these all cut us off from community and feed our inordinate desire for autonomy. Cue the axiom, “When Satan cannot make you bad, he makes you busy.” —John Mark Comer
