Before & After
Week Two - Happily Ever After
Carl Nichols
By nature, we pursue what we don’t have.
Vows…
“I promise that God will be my first priority and my souse will be my
second.”
“I promise to always pursue my two.”
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
united— dabaq (daw-bak’)
“cling or adhere; to catch by pursuit, to pursue hard with affection and devotion.”
“The road to hell is filled with good intentions.”
“A good intention with a bad approach often yields a negative result.”
“People judge you by your actions, not your intentions.”
“I always start the day with good intentions, but then I get out of bed and thats where it usually all goes wrong.”
Closing the gap between intentions and actions
- When you think something good, say it.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness
Hebrews 3:13
Men
Pursue her with words of affection.
Women
Pursue him with words of affirmation.
He is becoming what you see in him
She wants to know: Do you love me today?
Ladies—He wants to know: Do you believe in me today?
- When you think something special, do it.
James 4:17
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
- When you want something different, be it.
To get what you’ve never had, you must do what you’ve never done.
To get what you once had, you must do what you once did.
Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.
Revelation 2:5
