Dragons: Doubt

God isn’t opposed to our questions.
God’s existence isn’t affected by our doubts.

Most of the doubts we deal with are

not intellectual.

John 16:33
Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Faith is trust in the of doubt.

Hebrews 11:6
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.

If we didn’t have doubts, there would be no for faith.

1. Be about my doubt.

Matthew 11:2-3
2 John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, 3 Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?

Matthew 11:11
I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist.

2. Let my doubts drive me to .

John 20:25
But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in His hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in His side.”

John 20:29
You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.

23 ”What do you mean, ‘If I can?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

4. of the things God has already done.

1 Samuel 17:36-37
36 I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! 37 The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and bear will rescue me from this Philistine!
