SERIES INTRODUCTION:
We’re continuing our series today taking us on a journey to some of the men and women in the scriptures who perhaps may not be that well known or find themselves inside of many of our Sunday sermons or small group discussions. But, nonetheless these ‘lesser known’ legends of scriptures have overwhelming potential to impact our lives in powerful ways!
Today’s Honorable Mention –> Lydia.
ACTS 16:14-15 NIV
One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. 15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.
What we know about Lydia (before her recorded conversion):

Interesting fact about Lydia –> She is the first recorded convert on the European continent.
After her conversion, we see that her family was also saved and baptized.
God is no respector of persons in that He has also given you the ability to lead your entire household to Christ.
Your faith was meant to be followed!
Lydia was a trailblazer! Meaning her faith cut the path others followed her on.
LUKE 18:1-8 NIV
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”
6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
Lydia prepared her home by centering it around the gospel.
Who in your household are your beleiving to be saved?
