1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
Paul encourages the church in Thessalonica to continue to love another in brotherly affection. In fact, he notes that they have been taught by God how to do so. He cites their acts of compassion to all the brothers throughout Macedonia (recall their testimony and witness has been a theme throughout the letter as they are impacting their entire region with the Gospel). He asks them to do so “more and more”. Further, he coaches them to A) live a quiet life, B) to mind their own affairs, and to C) work with their hands so that their witness before the outside world is compelling.
