“Something Different: A Changed Life”

Romans 12:1-2
SERIES: “In Response to Jesus”

The Israelites were commanded to offer various sacrifices to honor God. All of these were sacrifices that came with a cost to the one making the offering. That’s part of the reason we call them sacrifice. What does that have to do with Romans 12 and the Apostle Paul exhortation to “offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God”?

What Did Ancient Sacrifice Look Like?

What Does Our Sacrifice Look Like?

How Does Change Happen in a Living Sacrifice?

Memory Verse: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2 NIV)
