Galatians 5:13-15 “Every Christian should have their ear pierced”

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but, through love, serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another. —Gal. 5:13-15 (ESV)

Freedom, initiated by God, produces loving servanthood, and it looks like a mountain stream.

Freedom, initiated by the flesh, produces selfishness, and it looks like a vacuum cleaner.

But if the slave plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ then his master shall bring him to God, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever. —Exodus 21:5-6 (ESV)
