Call to Worship (Psalm 106)
Leader: Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
People: Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,
Leader: that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones,
All: that I may share in the joy of your nation, and join your inheritance in giving praise.

Litany of Confession (Psalm 106)
Leader: We have sinned, even as our fathers did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly. When our fathers were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.

People: Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known. He rebuked the Red sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert. He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them. Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.

Leader: Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin.

People: But he took note of their distress when he heard their cry; for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.

Leader: Friends, let’s reflect in silent prayer for a few moments on the grace of our Loving God, which this scripture story about the Exodus. It reminds us of our own sin and that God shows us mercy, when we reach to him.

(Silent Prayer)

Leader: Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!”

People: Amen!

Assurance of Pardon (from Hebrews 8)
Leader: The Lord says: “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.”

People: For I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more. Thank God for his gracious mercy toward us! Amen.

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen. Amen.

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

Affirmation of Faith (Heidelberg Catechism, Q1)
Leader: What is your only comfort, in life and in death?

People: That I belong—body and soul, in life and in death—not to myself but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. At the cost of his own blood he has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed me from the dominion of the devil. He protects me so well that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head. Indeed, everything must fit his purpose for my salvation. Therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he also assures me of eternal life, and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him. Amen.
