Grab a few friends or reflect on these questions by yourself to apply this weekend’s message to your daily life.
Questions
- Proverbs 12:15 says, “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.” Who do you seek advice from? Describe your experiences of receiving “good” and “bad” advice.
- Solomon emphasizes the importance of having a good name; Ecclesiastes 7:1, “A good name is better than fine perfume,” and again in Proverbs 22:1 when he says, “A good name is more desirable than great riches.” What do you want people to think of you? Test this by asking those closest to you the first three things they think of when someone says your name. What steps can you take to match what you want people to think of you versus what currently comes to mind?
- Read Ecclesiastes 7:1-14. What areas of your life do you notice God speaking to you? How can you apply wisdom to make things better?
- Describe a time when you were struggling in an area of your life. How did things get better? Apply that situation to this week’s message on a “Better Way to Live.” What would you do differently?
